LOCHABER “YOUNG MUSICIANS OF THE YEAR”
COMPETITIONS
SPONSORED BY THE ROTARY CLUB OF LOCHABER
Competitions will be held in two sections:
(a) Junior Aged 12 and Under
(b) Senior Aged 13 to 18 Years
The Governing date for Age Qualification shall be 31st December 2025.
(1) No competitor may perform as his/her Own Choice any piece which is prescribed in the syllabus.
(2) No competitor may perform the same piece in more than one competition. Failure to comply with these instructions may lead to disqualification.
(3) The Entry Fee in Classes 606 and 607 is £10.
(4) Competitors MUST state the pieces to be performed and the playing time on the Entry Form. The programme may include playing different instruments and/or singing, with or without piano accompaniment.
(5) Copies of pieces for the adjudicator and accompanist must be received by the Programme Secretary on or before the 13th February 2026
(6) For each competition the adjudicator(s) will select a winner based on overall performance, but marks will not be awarded.
(7) Competitors must introduce their programme to the audience.
606. Junior Competition Competitors Aged 12 and Under
Junior Competitors will perform a prepared programme of 7 to 10 minutes playing time before an audience and the adjudicators.
607. Senior Competition Competitors Ages 13 to 17 Years.
Senior Competitors will perform a prepared programme of 9 to 12 minutes playing time before an audience and the adjudicators.
